Happy Easter to All!
We welcome each one of you to this great celebration of Easter! Now, having been blown away by the loving gift expressed on Calvary - that Jesus, the Son of God, out of love for us, should submit to the brutal death of a common criminal - we come to Easter Day to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus - and the new life which Jesus extends to all of us.
At Easter the world takes on a different tinge of colour - as along with Jesus we participate in our own ‘resurrection’. Taken beyond the ordinary dimensions of our lives, we allow our spiritual selves to be lifted up in joy! Each Sunday in the Mass we commemorate the Death and Resurrection of Jesus and open ourselves to the transforming love of Jesus. All are most welcome to join our parish community as we pray for peace within ourselves and throughout the world.

Can You Handprint Legibly?
Can you give us an hour a week for a few weeks? Our Sacramental Registers now need to be written up by hand. A few people who can print legibly would enable us to update our registers that have been computer printed. As computer prints can be changed, we are now required to update these by hand to protect their legitimacy. With a few people this can be completed over a few weeks. Time at your convenience. Please call the office on 4332 2216.
The Pope's Prayer Intentions
The Pope’s prayer intention for this month is
Universal: For doctors and their humanitarian collaborators in war-torn areas, who risk their lives to save the lives of others.
Pope Francis may add a further prayer request each month as current events or urgent needs transpire. They will be published on the Apostleship of Prayer website as soon as they are received by the Vatican. Go to www.apostleshipofprayer.org
As well as praying for our Pope himself, we are urged to always include his intentions in our prayers.
Accessibility to our Church
We are pleased to provide wheelchair access to parishioners and visitors to our Church, Parish Centre and toilets, as well as designated disabled parking spots in our carpark.
The Church and Parish Centre are equipped with a Hearing Loop for those with hearing aids.
The Church also has a big screen with large print of the hymns and responses, for those unable to read small print.
Message for February:
A culture of Safeguarding values compassion. ”Finally all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart and a humble mind.” (1 Peter 3:8)

Supporting God's Work
Financial support to the parish may be made through Planned Giving weekly envelopes, Credit Card, Direct Debit or Special Bequest. Drop in to the office with your details and we will make arrangements for you. Have you ever considered a bequest to your parish in your will? Your generosity and your final gift to your Church can have a huge impact on your parish's future. Speak with Fr Stevens or the parish office staff on 4332 2216.
On Anzac Day we remember all who lost their lives through involvement in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations. We especially remember the courageous actions undertaken by the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps during the First World War. Their sacrifice testifies to the love God calls us to share among each
other. On this national day of commemoration, we pray for those brave men and women who died in battle, sacrificing their lives while on duty. And we pray for the families who lost loved ones. Mass will be celebrated here at 9am on Anzac Day.
Parish Pastoral Council Nominations
Our present Pastoral Council is coming to the end of its term. We thank all our wonderful Councilors for giving of their valuable time and energy to us.
Anyone who would like to nominate someone to stand for election on the Council is asked to complete a registration form and submit it to the office before the end of May. Ideally we would like each parish group and ministry represented. The Council meets bi-monthly as a consultative body to Fr Bill, discussing and actioning pastoral care of the parish. (Forms are on the information tables.)
Parish BBQ Thanks
Once again a very successful Parish get-together. It is a real joy to see so many happy well-fed people enjoying the company. Our kitchen team excelled themselves (again) with good food aplenty, and a glorious Autumn day made for a great occasion. Thanks go to our Parish Pastoral people under Anne Little for organising another successful event.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Adoration is held on each first Saturday of the month in the Prayer Room following 9am Mass and continuing throughout the day until Benediction at 5:30pm.
Adoration is also held on all Saturdays of Advent, Lent, June and September.
Teach our Children about Jesus
There is always a need for more Catechists and Helpers. We teach Scripture in our four local public primary schools on a Thursday morning during school terms. If you could spare a couple of hours a week you could make all the difference in a child's life! The classes are small and very manageable. The lessons are planned for you, the children have a great workbook, and you are backed by resources and training. If you are interested in this wonderful ministry please give us a call at the parish office on 4332 2216.
Come along to our Bible Study Group. Fr Kevin conducts a short study of the next Sunday’s Gospel. We meet Tuesdays after Mass in the Muldoon Room. All are welcome! Enquiries 4332 2216.
SVDP Youth Conference
Wyong Region SVdP Youth Conference is an exciting new Youth Initiative. If you have skills great, if not, we would love to teach you. Work done willingly is service, work done lovingly is Christlike. Come and see. For details ring Charles on 0451 445 886.
Diamond Women's Support
Diamond Women's Support is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to provide help and support to women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy.
No woman should ever feel that she is cornered, or that there are no options left for her except to terminate her pregnancy. Lack of support and education, alongside continual bombardment by the media, instils fear - that an unexpected pregnancy is ‘the end’. But we believe everyone is entitled to support, respect and compassionate care.
If you are pregnant, or think you might be and want to talk, give us a call. We can give you and your family support and help for free. Call us on 4399 7099.
Help a Child feel Safe, Happy & Secure
There are children in our community who have been through experiences few of us could begin to fathom and who, without our help, will go through a childhood without the love and support of a family. CatholicCare Broken Bay is looking for everyday families who might consider taking a child or young person into their home - to love and support them, whether for one or two nights, a few weeks, months, or long term. This just might be you. If you have room in your heart and space in your home contact one of our team at CatholicCare Foster Care 4320 7700, email@example.com or www.catholiccaredbb.org.au or come to an Information Evening Wednesday 28 February 6pm 1/32 Central Coast Highway West Gosford.
Working in a Child-Related Ministry
Paid and volunteer workers who have direct face to face contact with children (under 18 years) are required by law to obtain a Working with Children Check number. Please note though exemptions may apply in some cases. The Parish is the employer of the paid or volunteer worker and therefore is required by law to verify the Working with Children Check number. All paid or volunteer workers engaged in a child-related role must have a cleared Working with Children Check to work in a child-related ministry. This disclosure references the legislation, Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
