PRAYERS

Our Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Prayer in times of financial difficulty

Dear Lord,
Help me find firm ground in this shaky economy.
As I seek work and assistance,
Give me strength not to be anxious when I seem to be going nowhere;
Give me patience not to despair when things look bleak;
Give me serenity to know you are here with me, helping me to carry my crosses each day;
So that I may do Your will,
For the salvation of souls
And my Eternal Life.

Morning Prayer

It’s always good upon rising to make the
Sign of the Cross (“In the Name of the
Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”) followed by a Morning
Offering, like this one below:

O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
I offer You my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings of this day
for all the intentions of Your Sacred Heart,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass throughout the world,
in reparation for my sins,
for the intentions of all my relatives and friends, and in particular for the intentions of the
Holy Father.
Amen

A 3 O'Clock Prayer

Dear Lord,
Remembering the hour
when You experienced death
So that we might have Eternal Life,
May we appreciate in our hearts
the necessity of your sacrifice for us
And with Your help, Your guidance,
and Your  grace,
May we be made worthy of it.

The Divine Praises

The Divine Praises traditionally follows the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament at Church when it is prayed by the priest and the worshippers before our Lord (in the Host) is returned to the tabernacle following adoration.

It was composed in a slightly shorter form by Luigi Felici, a Jesuit priest, in 1797, as a prayer to make reparation for blasphemy and profane
language. You can recite it privately (or in group settings other than during the Benediction) for this purpose as a great way to show God, the Holy Family, and the Angels and Saints thanksgiving and praise.

Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man.
Blessed be the Name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God,
Mary most Holy.
Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her Glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints. Amen.

The Magnificat - the Prayer of Mary

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has looked with favour on his lowly servant. From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me, and holy is his Name. He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation. He has shown the strength of his arm, he has scattered the proud in their conceit. He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, and has lifted up the lowly. He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. He has come to the help of his
servant Israel for he remembered his promise of mercy, the promise he made to our fathers, to Abraham and his children forever.  (Lk 1:46-55)

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,
hail our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry,
poor banished children of Eve,
To thee do we send up our sighs,
Mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
And after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy
womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God,
That we may be made worthy of  the promises of Christ.
Amen.

Sacred Heart of Jesus

Jesus, we know that You are merciful and that You have offered Your Heart for us. It is crowned with thorns and with our sins. We know that You implore us constantly so that we do not go astray.
Jesus, remember us when we are in sin. By means of Your Heart make all men love one another. Make hate disappear from amongst men. Show us Your love. We all love You and want You to protect us with Your Shepherd's Heart and free us
from every sin.
Jesus, enter into every heart! Knock, knock at the door of our heart. Be patient and never desist. We are still closed because we have not understood Your Love.
Knock continuously.
O Good Jesus, make us open our hearts to You at least in the moment we remember Your passion suffered for us. Amen.

Immaculate Heart of Mary

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, ardent with goodness, show your love towards us. May the flame of your heart, O Mary, descend on all mankind. We love you so. Impress true love in our hearts so that we have a continuous desire for you.
O Mary, humble and meek of heart, remember us when we are in sin. You know that all men sin. Give us, by means of Your Immaculate Heart, spiritual health. Let us always see the goodness of Your maternal heart and may we be converted by means of the flame of your heart. Amen.
