Red is the colour of martyrs, and so it is fitting that we remember and pray for persecuted Christians on Red Wednesday by lighting up the façade of Our Lady of Dolours Church Chatswood in red, with Mass celebrated by Bishop Anthony Randazzo. Refreshments will follow in the church forecourt. November Mass Envelopes November is a special time to pray for the Holy Souls. Mass offering envelopes are available and will be placed on the Altar during the month. Diocesan World Youth Day Gathering Saturday 19 November Catholic Youth Broken Bay is inviting youth, young adults, and our Diocesan community to mark Local World Youth Day, in answer to Pope Francis’ call to gather youth, young adults, priests, families, youth ministers, and teachers for pilgrimage, Mass, food, fun, prayer, and community. Bishop Anthony will celebrate the Mass and help us all to discover the journey that God has in store for each of us. More details are to be released soon, but for now save the date. Our volunteers have flexibility to choose a day and time that suits them, we just ask for a commitment of at least one hour per fortnight. The time will be spent having a cuppa, going on outings, reading together, listening to music, playing games and other activities. All volunteers are supported with regular check-ins. Lectio Divina Nights Catholic Youth Broken Bay is offering a space to come together to pray by Lectio Divina, a practice of reading the Scriptures and letting God speak to you through the Word. The diocese of Huancavelica is one of the poorest in Peru. Two priests are now managing to visit every village once a month, celebrating Holy Mass, administering to the sick, and preparing people for the Sacraments. This pastoral care is now bearing fruit, and more and more Catholics are returning to the practice of their faith, but a robust all-terrain vehicle would make it much easier for these priests to minister to the faithful in Peru. Parish Anniversaries
This Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King, we celebrate our big Parish milestones, the 75th Anniversary of the founding of our parish and the 60th Anniversary of the opening of our Church. Bishop Anthony is celebrating the 9:30am Mass and will also formally install Fr Brian Moloney as our Parish Priest during the Mass.
The celebration will continue in the parish centre after the Mass. Please bring your friends and families to help us celebrate! All are welcome! Pastoral Works Broken Bay Appeal
Thank you to all who contributed to our Pastoral Works Appeal. We are still collecting donations for the Appeal, so if you missed out last weekend you may add your donation to the collection boxes this weekend, or donate online at www.bbcatholic.org.au/pastoralworks. Please nominate The Entrance Parish when donating online. This Appeal raises funds for the charities in our diocese, such as CatholicCare, The Confraternity of Christian Doctrine, St Lucy’s School for children with a disability, St Edmund’s College for children with special needs, and the Ephpheta Centre for the deaf and hearing impaired, and relies totally on your generosity. Our parish has a quota of $37,295 to contribute, with now only two collections per year to raise these funds. Thank you and God bless you for your generosity.

Many of our parishioners take Holy Communion to the sick and housebound in our parish, and we are most grateful to all who are involved in this ministry. We ask that anyone who is taking Holy Communion to the sick or housebound to please let the parish office know the name, address, phone number and day of week they take Holy Communion to any parishioner. It is important that this information is provided to the parish office, in order that we comply with the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy which is designed to not only protect the sick and housebound but also our

Children's Liturgy SUSPENDED
Our Children’s Liturgy is held during Sunday 9.30am Mass, with lots of kids coming along to hear the Gospel at their level and have fun doing activities. Accessibility to our Church
We are pleased to provide wheelchair access to parishioners and visitors to our Church, Parish Centre and toilets, as well as designated disabled parking spots in our carpark. The front driveway gates are open during weekend Masses for drive through drop off and pick up at the front entrance.
The Church and Parish Centre are equipped with a Hearing Loop for those with hearing aids. The Church also has a big screen with large print of the hymns and responses, for those unable to read small print. |

You can become a Catechist or Helper! Delight in a spiritually fulfilling mission. Our Parish children are hungry to hear the story of Jesus and the hope and joy he brings. Anointing of the Sick
Anointing is held on every first Friday of the month during 11:45am Mass for those over 65 or with serious or long-term illness.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is held in the Church from 9:30am-10:30am on all First Saturdays of the month.
Kids Club
KidsClub is a Parish social group for 5-12 year olds (and their siblings) who want to make new friends, have fun, and learn more about Jesus! We have games, craft and activities, with snacks provided. Parents are welcome to stay or you can drop off and pick up (parents must stay for children under 5 yrs). Meetings are COVID safe and our leaders have WWCC. We encourage all to join us at 5pm Mass after KidsClub. No RSVP required, just turn up! KidsClub will not be held in October in lieu of the Night of Light.
Morning Teas are Back!
Parish Morning Teas are hosted by the Family Groups on the second Sunday of the month after 9:30am Mass, in the Parish Centre. All welcome!
Help! - the Altar Society
The Altar Society is always in need of able-bodied persons (male or female) to help with Church cleaning on Friday mornings for an hour or less. It’s on a roster basis of teams of four, so not a huge commitment. No vacuuming, just sanitising of pews, dusting and cleaning of Altar and sweeping up of leaves around entry doors to the Church. Marriage Tribunal
Marriage breakdown is a traumatic experience for all those concerned. The Church reaches out in support of those who are divorced, while upholding the permanence of a true Christian marriage. The Broken Bay Office of the Tribunal
extends an invitation to any divorced person who would like to talk about the annulment process. You can be assured that your privacy will be respected. Supporting God's Work in my Parish
We thank you for your support of regular Giving, which can be made via the collection boxes at the doors, in person at the parish office, monthly on credit card, electronic funds transfer, or through direct debit arrangement. Electronically, there are several ways in which you can contribute but some incur higher fees than others. Transfer directly into our accounts incurs no fees and saves the parish.
