Community Fair this Sunday

Postal Plebiscite Update
Australians are being asked to vote in the Marriage Law Postal Survey (plebiscite) to determine whether the legal definition of marriage should be changed to include same-sex unions. Ballot papers have been sent out and all votes must be received back by Tuesday 7 November. Please consider voting to keep marriage as a unique relationship between a woman and a man. Only a little over half of those registered to vote have returned their ballot papers so far. We have good information that could be passed on to friends and family to help them realise what is at stake available on the tables at the church doors and near the confessionals. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Join us each first Saturday of the month for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration is held in the Prayer Room following 9am Mass and continuing through the day until Benediction at 5:30pm.

Adoration is also held on all Saturdays of Lent, June, September and Advent.

The Pope's Prayer Intentions
Rights of workers and the unemployed: That all workers may receive respect and protection of their rights, and the unemployed may receive the opportunity to contribute to the common good.

The Charitable Works Fund Appeal supports five agencies that make a difference in the lives of children and families. Paid and volunteer workers who have direct face to face contact with children (under 18 years) are required by law to obtain a Working with Children Check number. Please note though exemptions may apply in some cases. The Parish is the employer of the paid or volunteer worker and therefore is required by law to verify the Working with Children Check number. All paid or volunteer workers engaged in a child-related role must have a cleared Working with Children Check to work in a child-related ministry. This disclosure references the legislation, Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.

Nursing Home Masses
Each month Mass and Anointing of the Sick is celebrated at our Nursing Homes by Fr Stephen Hamilton. This is in addition to the regular Communion brought to the sick by our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
