Plenary Council 2020
Our Parish will begin consultation leading to the Plenary Council in 2020. This will be our opportunity to have an input into the Council on a local level and then in our region and then on a Diocesan level.
On the foyer noticeboard is the timeline leading to the Council in 2020. The purpose of the local meetings is so that the Church locally has an input. It will be a period of “listening” that proceeds the agenda for the Council to consider in 2020. We need to pray and actively participate so that the whole Australian Church can be heard and the Council will effectively lead us as “Church” in going forward. Pray for the Council. Details of local meetings at which you can have an input will be announced shortly.

Social Justice - Exciting News!
The council has released the recommendations from the Judith Stubbs report on Affordable Housing! This is our opportunity to review the recommendations and make a difference. We need one last push for the council to adopt the report. To help, our group will study the report, and pick out some key points. Please, when we print a guide, send emails or write to the address we provide. This is easier to do but it is essential. If we show no interest the council can't justify providing the additional affordable housing for our area. Look out for our guide next week! Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Come and pray all Saturdays of September
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 9:30am to 5:30pm in the Prayer Room.
Remaining in silence before the Blessed Sacrament, it is Christ totally and really present whom we discover, whom we adore and with whom we are in contact. However, it is not through the senses that we perceive him and are close to him. Under the appearance of bread and wine, it is faith and love which lead us to recognise the Lord, he who fully communicates to us 'the blessings of Redemption which he accomplished, he, the Master, the Good Shepherd, the Mediator most pleasing to the Father.' (Leo XIII, Mirae Caritatis)
Our intention for Adoration in September will be in reparation to Jesus for the sex abuse scandal and for the cleansing and sanctification of the Church.

Diamond Women's Support
Diamond Women's Support is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to provide help and support to women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy.
No woman should ever feel that she is cornered, or that there are no options left for her except to terminate her pregnancy. Lack of support and education, alongside continual bombardment by the media, instils fear - that an unexpected pregnancy is ‘the end’. But we believe everyone is entitled to support, respect and compassionate care.
If you are pregnant, or think you might be and want to talk, give us a call. We can give you and your family support and help for free. Call us on 4399 7099.
