During the year there are three special appeals for charitable works. The next Appeal is on 2/3 November. Funds from these appeals are used to support the charitable activities of the Diocese. However, not many may be aware of the extent of these activities. They include: Confraternity for Christian Doctrine (CCD), St Lucy's School (for children with a disability), St Edmund’s School (for children with special needs), Ephpheta Centre (reaches out to deaf and hearing impaired communities).
All parishes within the Diocese need to raise money to support these works. Our assessment for this year is $36,898 which amounts to $12,299 per Appeal. Over past years our parish quota has not been met. Please help us reach it this year and support these great community activities. Remember every contribution, however small helps.
Join us each first Saturday for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Adoration is held in the Prayer Room following 9am Mass and continuing through the day until Benediction at 5:30pm.

Working in a Child-Related Ministry
Paid and volunteer workers who have direct face to face contact with children (under 18 years) are required by law to obtain a Working with Children Check number. Please note though exemptions may apply in some cases. The Parish is the employer of the paid or volunteer worker and therefore is required by law to verify the Working with Children Check number. All paid or volunteer workers engaged in a child-related role must have a cleared Working with Children Check to work in a child-related ministry. This disclosure references the legislation, Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
Parish Safeguarding Presentation
The diocese seeks to ensure children and vulnerable people are provided with the fundamental right to be kept safe and respected. Centre. As hosts of this presentation we are asking for a good turn out from parishioners. Please register via email firstname.lastname@example.org or contact 02 8379 1605.

Diamond Women's Support
Diamond Women's Support is a not-for-profit organisation that seeks to provide help and support to women and families facing an unplanned pregnancy.
No woman should ever feel that she is cornered, or that there are no options left for her except to terminate her pregnancy. Lack of support and education, alongside continual bombardment by the media, instils fear - that an unexpected pregnancy is ‘the end’. But we believe everyone is entitled to support, respect and compassionate care.
If you are pregnant, or think you might be and want to talk, give us a call. We can give you and your family support and help for free. Call us on 4399 7099.

This just might be you. If you have room in your heart and space in your home contact one of our team at CatholicCare Foster Care 4320 7700, email@example.com or www.catholiccaredbb.org.au or come to an Information Evening Wednesday 28 February 6pm 1/32 Central Coast Highway West Gosford.
