Every Rabbi had his favourite answer to the question: Which is the greatest Commandment. Of the over 1,000 regulations in the Law, there was probably 1.000 different answers. Jesus doesn't go to any particular Law. He goes to their daily prayer and draws from it his answer to the question. This prayer they all knew and said many times a day. His answer put an end to all Rabbinical questions forever. The Scribe is completely satisfied. This new Rabbi, Jesus, puts an end to all controversy by quoting Moses, the ultimate authority.
