event in the life of Moses, and the other a story of Jesus.
Moses is praying as Joshua is leading the Army. As long as Moses prays with arms
extended the victory is ensured. As Moses gets tired and his arms begin to grow
heavy, he is given a seat and his arms are held by his intercessors Aaron and
Hur. The victory came about because the prayer continued till sunset.
Jesus talks about the unjust judge. Like the unjust steward, Jesus has no problem using the bad example of people to illustrate his point. There is a need to pray continually and never loose heart. The widow’s persistence will worry the old judge to death. Now if the world can be like this, how much more will God see justice done to his chosen, and done speedily!
An old friend told me: God never seems to be in a hurry, but He is never late. Every prayer is answered. Jesus never said you only need to pray once. He did say: whatever you ask in my hame I will give. Keep the list and pray with persistence.
